I am inclined to think that there is more here than meets the eye. If cannabis is so safe, why would it be necessary to take a user's gun ownership rights away? I've talked to veterans who spent time in certain NW African countries where other "natural" occurring hallucinogenic plants are used by much of the population. They said that it was impossible to converse with anyone over 11 years old. Hope that's not where we're heading.
I don't use any drugs at all but how does it make any sense that your constitutional rights no longer exist if you say have cancer and smoke weed and no longer have a right to defend your home or life ? So "shall not be infringed has fine print now ? " If you some weed your no longer American enough to enjoy any of the guarentes that being full American offers , such as having Constitutional rights , but if you want to drink and take opioids it's ok because we've all done that right ! What's next ? If you use foul language you can no longer have freedom of speech ! And if you stop for a reciept check at WalMart you no longer have 4th ammendment rights! Wake up people ! The government is already responsible, for infringing on this right multiple times, and nothing was done about it! The NRA is not doing enough, or anything at all to stop this because 80-90% of NRA gun owners support universal background checks that don’t specify just what restrictions would apply! Ok if that's their concern then any one who has had 1 or more DUI/DWI or public intoxication w/in the past 6 years and any one charged with domestic/spousal abuse/ violence, any form of child or animal abuse ,stalking, intimidation, sexual assault should lose their 2nd amendment rights because they are 50x's more likely to exhibit irrational and unpredictable nature while owning a firearm than someone who smokes pot for medical reasons. This ruling isn't about safety,harm prevention or preemptive damage control.

I was furious to find out that the federal government still classifies Marijuana (even for medical use) as a class 1 controlled substance. And regardless of medically authorized use is still Illegal according to federal policy. After many surgeries and treatments, and medications my doctor suggested medical Marijuana as the next logical step. Upon application for the medication. I was informed that not only could I never purchase a firearm but would also be encouraged to "voluntarily surrender" my firearms and that my concealed permit would be revoked because of federal sanctions against the class 1 controlled substance. Needless to say I chose to keep my 2nd amendment rights and will continue to suffer, but will maintain my constitutional liberties while doing so.
So it's legal to get drunk on alcohol, take opiods and antidepressents that are precribed to you and carry a gun with a concealed weapon permit but if you're all mellowed out on pot then PRISON time. US law has become a joke.
what about a slingshot can i own a slingshot or knive for cutting steak….nothing like putting a dangerous weapon into the hands of a dangerous violent pot smoking criminal.

In most states you can still legally buy a firearm from an owner of the firearm… So good luck with this… You may not be able to buy a brand new one but you can still get one… Also if you live in a state where it is not legal to buy a firearm from the owner then you should have seen this kind of crap coming.
