Aside from the myriad medicinal uses as listed in other comments (which I’m not diminishing in any way, cannabis treats my severe back and neck injury better than opioids ever did), an equally important benefit of legalizing cannabis is the return of local manufacturing and agriculture jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities. Communities can work together to grow cannabis for local industry, whatever that may be where you are. It’s a return to the carbohydrate economy of years past…
I have IBS and scoliosis where I get pain in many spots of my back and horrific stomach pains. Ever since I've been using cannabis to treat my stomach and back, I rarely get any pain from either of them. It also helps with my wisdom teeth pain and it helps me feel normal.
my son is 25 years old and has severe Crohns Disease . I know that Cannabis can help my son so much and it can even put him into remission . We live in Texas and it is not legal here yet .I stand behind legalization of Cannabis one hundred per cent .
I'm only 17 years old, but I started smoking cannabis about a year ago. The first few times I did it, the purpose was only to get high with my friends, but now that I'm more experienced with it, I've found that it does amazing things. Without marijuana I have a severe lack of appetite, terrible insomnia, and symptoms of depression/anxiety and ADD/ADHD. Even though cannabis isn't legal where I live, it's still readily available and I'm so thankful for that. Also thanks to leafly for their app and cannabis education, it's really really important and I hope someday there will be legalization/decriminalization of cannabis all over the U.S.
Cannabis treats my OCD, I don't feel compelled to do my little yet grueling rituals and I don't worry as much
i've been medicating myself with it for more than twenty years now and it's a far better option for me than any of the rx drugs that the doctors have given me. currently my state only allows a few certain specific, chronic pain conditions to be covered by the mmj program but a few friends who have qualified in the next state over have been willing to help me out.
it has helped me with crippling anxiety, visual and auditory hallucinations, agoraphobia, depression and focus. and since i've been able to get it reliably and cleanly (as opposed to street dealers), it has given me my life back. i own my own business and work hard every day, have family and friends that rely on me — none of this would be possible without cannabis.
it sounds wild and cult-like to call it a miracle cure and i know it won't be that for everyone — but for me, i don't ever want to go back to a life without it. i didn't like that person. this person, however, has a lot to offer.
that's why i use medical cannabis.

I have a problem with my Achilles tendon in my right ankle, I have bad pain in my right knee due to an old muscle/tendon injury, terrible lower back pain and a right shoulder injury that leaves me in a fair amount of discomfort yet the docs can find no reason for it. The meds that they prescribed me left me like a bloody zombie and I could only take them in the early evening so I stopped them because I need relief in the day for work and daily duties, then a friend introduced me to cannabis (she has cancer and she swears it is helping her in more ways than pharm meds) and what a difference it makes, very little to no pain at all which lasts the day and a sound nights sleep too, 1 from not being in so much pain and 2 because it relaxes ones mind (have anxiety and other gremlins) so I do not see why it remains illegal when many people can benefit from it. Legalize it and it will create jobs for people and the little extra tax revenue will help the economy while all of those who cannot take pharm meds will be able to get back a quality of life that they were used to before suffering an injury/mental disorder.
I want it legal so I'm not a criminal.
I love leafly and I'm so glad I subscribed. Medical cannabis helps a lot of people including myself and leafly gives great information
I am a Marine veteran that actually has epilepsy and has had for 10 years. I am hoping to help get it legalized in Wisconsin and many more medical conditions such as PTSD; that was before I even got enlisted because of the car incident that caused my epilepsy, painful left knee, and a hostage situation in 2007 that didn't make anything better.
This doctor should speak with Dr. Joan Connell, a representative of my state's (North Dakota) Medical Association. It's on our ballot for Nov, yet, Dr. Connell is a strong advocate against medical legalization.
I'm for the legalization of cannabis, not just medical. Though I'm using it for medical reasons.
My anxiety will put me in to some sort of shock like state but thanks to marijuana I don't really have that problem I can function in situation where normally I'd have a insane anxiety attack
Very good job LEAFLY, your app is awesome, people needs education about cannabis, im from spain
I'm a veteran who suffers from severe migraines and since I started using cannabis a year ago, I have not had a single one. That's why. It's nice to never have to worry about a migraine ruining my day.
